Summary: Wolverine fights Sabertooth, Round 4?  Or is it 6?  I can't keep track.  They do fight WAY too often! *sigh*  Marie finally digs some chow and Weapon X has now been activated!

Chapter Ten – A Human Weapon

"You see that little fella?" Sabertooth snarled in Wolverine's ear. "Pyro's gonna have a run with sugarteats and then I'm gonna get to have a go at her!"
"Big words for a man I last seen blasted three hundred feet off the ground." Logan gritted out against Sabertooth's massive forearm, pinning him like a vice against the cell's stone wall.
The larger man landed a quick, vicious shot to his kidney.
"And the way the kid strolled in here drenched in that scent like chocolate and cherries..."
"Keep talking Bub, but when I'm out of these cuffs you won't walk away from what I do to you."
"Oh?" Sabertooth fliped Logan until he was belly-up. He then pulled him down, crashing him over his bent knee. There was an audible popping sound and Sabertooth dropped Logan's limp form to the ground.

“Mystique?”
“Yes, Rogue?” Mystique answered while taking the tops off a few trays scattered around her mattress bed. Revealed within was dish after seductive dish!
“Please tell me I’ve just hallucinated the last several days and any time now I’m gonna just wake up in the med lab.”
Mystique snorted.
“’Fraid not little one.” She motioned towards where the steaming food was sitting. “But I guess maybe this is your reward for being such a good sport.”
“What do you mean?” Marie asked while looking at the food, her mouth watering.
“Pyro set it up for you.” She could barely contain the humor in her voice. “Guess there’s another honorary member of the Brotherhood in the room here besides me.”
“Huh?” Marie asked barely looking up before digging out a big scoop of rice and beef from one of the trays.
“Well, I’m kind of an honorary member too since I started to show signs of reverting back to my mutant state.”
Marie looked up at her still chewing a huge piece of meat in the corner of her mouth. Hearing Mystique talk for so long at a time was unnerving.
“What happened?” Marie asked. “I mean, I never heard anything about you taking the cure.” Marie’s brow wrinkled. “What would make you take the cure?”
The younger girl sat in stunned silence as she was told all about Mystique’s forced rehabilitation into a “conventional” human life, about how Eric had left her then and what she did in retaliation, telling the FBI where their hideouts were.
The first part was a bit hard to take, but by the time Mystique had finished Marie had felt oddly giggly at the joke Mama Karma had evidently set into motion for the blue woman. Or maybe she had become delirious from gorging herself on such tasty food as she had been deprived of for the last several days. A funny thing happened then. Thinking of Mystique as a woman with feelings actually softened her manipulative character for Marie and the younger girl ended up only feeling sorry for the elder.
Mystique left Rogue’s cell soon after their exchange and was nearly knocked over by Pyro hurrying to get to the place she had just left.

Logan awoke with a horrible pain shooting up and down his spine. His foggy brain cleared and he sniffed the scent of the room, trying to identify his environment. He sensed Sabertooth’s presence and turned his head slightly to verify that the very same devil was draped against the iron slated grate, back to the prisoner. Wolverine took the time to slowly palm the box with the drug pump behind his back. As he suspected, it was broken, he guessed from the blow Sabertooth delivered.
Logan shook his head a bit trying to gain some clarity.
"How long was I out?"
He watched Sabertooth for any movement. "And Marie?"
“Too long.”
The blonde barbarian turned his head over his shoulder, sniffing the air. Even his ears seamed to perk up right before a sharp, ringing noise sliced through the air. Sabertooth’s eyes widened in shock and he tried desperately to scramble his way into standing so he could defend himself. Although, it appeared to be a futile effort as the Wolverine was already up and relieved of the chains that had previously bonded him. As it was Sabertooth didn’t even have the time to get to his feet because as soon as he did two quick moves from Logan severed him from the ability to control his movements ever again. His body separated itself and the Wolverine stepped over the fallen man’s loose head before making his way out of the cell in search of Marie.
